What are you trying to say?
Thanks for the bunch of :+fav:s you did on my artwork! Meow :3
You always have insightful thoughts in your comments- ever thought of using your DA journal to review stuff? I'd be interested in your thoughts.
I do pretty much all of my browsing from an iPad, but the other day I was actually sitting by my computer. Managing favourites is a hassle to do on an iPad, I think, so I had kind of been putting it off. :| (Blank Stare)

Well, thank you for making art for me to favourite and enjoy. Giggle

Without going into a wall of text of details, I think it would be complicated for me to do a review of something. :skeptical: However, I am always willing to share my thoughts, especially, if I think they are good to share. ;) (Wink)

But I am kind of curious. What kind of "stuff" did you have in mind?  rvmp
I dunno.... the cartoons you watch? I'm realizing I don't know much about your interests. I do know you give thoughtful critiques of people's artwork and it sounds like you watch some of my favorite cartoons. :) Maybe some more information gathering is necessary- heaven forbid I ask you myself. ;)

I am curious about your thoughts on the latest Steven Universe episode, 'Nightmare Hospital'. Have you seen it yet?
Made my heart hurt for Steven at the end there.
(COMMENT MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS REGARDING: Steven Universe, One Piece and Harry Potter.)

Well, I have seen it now. And I am right there with you regarding the ending. Nod But I am also very hopeful and have a lot of faith in Steven and his future development. Steven by himself is a strong- and good-willed kid. And although I am kind of interested in seeing a scene or scenes of him sharing his feelings about his mother's absence, and his friends being there for him, I kind of also really like the current trend of him being strong, good and generally appreciative and enjoying the good things in his life. :) (Smile) To me Steven seems so good and optimistic that I somewhat feel that he must have come to terms with his situation. :| (Blank Stare) But I am not neglecting the possibility that looks and facades can be very deceiving. But if so, Steven must have what is probably the happiest and most nonsignificative poker face I have ever seen. Either that or there are moments I am failing to recall properly, which is always a possibility, and also one of the very reasons discussing and reviewing things are fun, informative and worthwhile. ;) (Wink)
His personality kind of also reminds me of the scene in One Piece where Jinbei made Luffy realize what he needed to be doing after Ace's death. But Steven is much younger than Luffy, and to me, presumedly, he also seems to have played a bigger role in his own emotional recovery. :ponder:

Rose Quartz is amazing and she left behind one major legacy - and so much cool stuff! Shiny La Cannons, a cave base, a healing fountain, Lion, her room of imagination, her sword and shield; her views and acts of love, like how she took care of those plants that almost consumed Steven and Lars along with some of the other youngsters of Beach City, because she saw their beauty in spite of their danger; not to mention the impact she had on the character of her fellow Crystal Gems and their sense of purpose; and of course, the gem just like hers that Steven has. Or perhaps, it is even her actual gem? I wonder and hope she has left even more cool surprises for Steven and company to find and explore. :happybounce:
I often wonder how Steven came to be? Was he born like a human, or like a gem (I also wonder about the specifics of gem birth)? Or was he conceived in his own different way entirely? :ponder: A theory I kind of like, although, I cannot really argue how plausible it is, is that the gem Steven has in fact is Rose Quartz. That somehow around the time she died or disappeared, she ended up within Steven in her gem form. Maybe in similar fashion to how Harry Potters parents protected him with a parental loving sacrifice that ended up placing a strong and protective spell of love on him. :ponder: Assuming this is the case, I think it would be cool to see Rose Quartz fully regenerate and rise from the ashes. However, were that to happen, it would probably mean that Steven would lose his powers, and I do not really see that happening. So maybe instead she would just reappear in spirit to bond with Steven, and to retemper his resolve in a moment of need, and then just sort of live on as a spirit within him. But this is all just some wild and crazy theory of mine with little to no backing. Shrug Whatever the case, I am looking forward to see what the case actually is. :) (Smile)

Getting back on track to focus on the current episode. I like horror and I really like the gem zombie things. They look weird, they behave curiously, and they are decently strong to be respected as the minor enemies they are. Plus, they have the potential to become a big threat were a large enough group of them to bond together. Nod All that being said, I think the show is too pleasant to be properly horrific, so horror episodes like Nightmare Hospital appear a bit too tame to be effective. :| (Blank Stare) But it is alright, since the appeal is more getting to see the characters react to the horror, rather than the horror itself. ;) (Wink)

All of the things I have been talking about so far also somewhat shows how much intrigue, exposition and adventure there are left to be explored within this show. Meow :3 I really like the slow pace and "side questing" like feel there is to the show. It seems to me that we often learn some of the cooler things about the story, characters or the world during seemingly random and minor side quests. This indirect approach to exposition always keeps me excited for any new adventure that happens within the show, because I never know when some cool lore will be achieved. Nod
To me, this random side quest approach has great appeal, and it is also one of strong points for shows like Adventure Time, and also games like "The Souls Games" (Dark Souls series of games and Bloodborne). In those games a lot of story is linked to the flavour text of the items, weapons and armour you find. As such, you as the player are urged to explore and wonder and to connect the pieces for yourself in order to obtain meaning. This kind of approach feels so very engaging and I love it. Giggle

What I liked best about the episode was getting to see some Connie and Steven together. They are so cute together. I adore'th their silly'th, childlike'th and playful'eth banter'eth. :D (Big Grin)
I also like their closeness, like how they are partners in crime, going up against Connie's parents' rules.
GIF Steven Universe - Steven and Connie
This episode we also got to see Steven and Connie use their abilities confidently against minor enemies.

All we need now is a bigger challenge for them to face, in order to push them further.
the ship sails
Or maybe even knock them to the ground, so they get the opportunity to rise back up as stronger and more developed individuals.

The way Connie's mother, Dr. Maheswaran, was won over, seemed very rushed and unbelievable. :| (Blank Stare) With regards to doing reviews, things like that is one of the aspects I dislike. :( (Sad)
My best friend watches a lot of online reviewers, and he likes to "discuss" things - and so do I. But we have very different priorities. When I think of discussing, I think the goal is to find meaning, truth and, if possible, agreement in a respectable way. I care not about who makes the most sense or has the best points, I believe the point is to find and share points and arguments in order to increase our common understanding. Nod My friend, however, seemingly cares more about "winning" and being the one who is right. No, I disagree! He is not avert to slander, name-calling, passing arguments off as his own and brute forcing opinions as facts and truth in order to "win". In addition, the more wrong he can make others appear, the more he seems to savor it, as if he feels even more justified in his ways, views and opinions. :( (Sad) This is also very much reflected in most of the reviewers he favours. So whenever I hear of reviewers or reviewing, like you suggested I tried out, then I kind of get a bad taste in my mouth. Paranoid
What that has to do with Connie successfully winning over her mother so easily is that to me that is okay. I am the kind of guy who am willing to accept such things.  rvmp But my friend, a lot of the reviewers he watches, and many of those who follow those reviewers would not let something like that just slide by unnoticed. People like them would complain and criticize it to smithereens and condemn anyone "stupid" enough to forgive something like that. :sigh: I feel there are already enough unpleasantries on the internet and in the world. So I am not really that keen on sharing my "stupid" views with larger groups of people, some of which are only out to start even more unnecessary fights. No, I disagree!
I will end by saying that my friend also has many good qualities too. Nod They are just not as relevant right here. :| (Blank Stare) He is not as bad as I make him sound in the previous paragraph. Sweating a little...
But on another note, I think it is really good that Connie has finally gotten some leeway. :) (Smile) Now, hopefully she will "come out to play" more, and I would love that. :D (Big Grin)

Closing thoughts? It is good to get some new episodes of both SU and also MLP for that matter. :) (Smile) But one MLP episode just barely feels like enough, and a SU episode with its half length and slow pace feels even less like enough! We need more! CURSE YOU!

Also, how dare Connie's parents use an innocent abacus for their nefarious purposes! Rage

Hope this has not been too tedious for you to read. Wink/Razz You asked for it, so I just kind let it all out. Sweating a little... Initially, I wanted to include other things besides SU. But I feel like this got plenty long by itself. =P (Razz)

P.s.
I just wanted to let you know of some of the cartoons I enjoy. Meow :3 You are probably already aware that I like Friendship is Magic, Steven Universe and Adventure Time. I also really like Regular Show - Wo-oo-oo-ah! TMNT 2012 - Cowabunga, dude! Booyah-kashaa! and currently I am watching through all of The Simpsons episodes - D'oh! I am falling in love with little Lisa Simpson all over again (figuratively speaking of course Wink/Razz). She is wonderful. Giggle

I am considering looking into the Steven Universe comics. Nod
Also, I am considering looking into the Adventure Time comics, but I have yet to find a place from which to get those. :| (Blank Stare)

P.s.s.
The next episode is also out now. It was alright by itself, but it seemingly did not add anything significant to the main plot. Oh well.  rvmp
Wonder when the next episode will come?
